Students are assigned single gender, either all Male or all Female, in each room/suite but the floor or building is mixed gender with ensuite or single use/pod style bathrooms.
This is the default housing option for incoming students.
Gender Inclusive Housing
Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) provides students with the opportunity to room with student(s) regardless of sex, gender, gender identity/expression, or sexual orientation.
If a student would like to be assigned within gender inclusive housing as an incoming first year student, they should indicate their preference within the housing application.
Single Gender Housing
All rooms and the whole building is occupied by students of a single gender, either Male or Female.
If a student would like to be assigned within single gender housing as an incoming first year student, with either all male identifying student or all female identifying students, they should indicate their preference within the housing application.
Gender and Sex Designations
The gender designation used in housing is the field labeled “Sex” on the student’s university record.

Apartments (Park Place, Station at Mill Point, Oaks, Danieley Apartments, Crest)
All rooms and apartments are available to be assigned regardless of gender.
Residence Hall Rooms (Colonnades, Historic, Global, Danieley Flats, East, Loy)
Rooms are marked for groups of the same sex to choose, or be assigned, together.
Individuals who choose a multi occupancy spaces, but don’t completely fill the space, will then have the other remaining spaces designated to their identified sex/gender.
