Winter/Spring Housing

This page is intended for students who DO NOT live on campus in the fall semester and want housing in the winter/spring. Examples include students who are in the Elon Global Start program, live off campus in the fall, or are studying abroad/away in the fall and want housing in the winter/spring when they return.

If you will need housing for winter and spring terms (2024) please fill out the application located on the Self Service website (www.elon.edu/myhousing). The application will be available in early November.

Winter & Spring Housing Selection Process & Timeline

November 1, 2023: Deadline for Housing Accommodation requests. (Application opens October 15, 2023), more information can be found here.

  • NOTE: Students who are in campus housing in fall term do NOT need to reapply for winter/spring housing as their assignment will be rolled from fall to winter/spring automatically.

November 26, 2023: Application deadline for winter and spring housing. If you know of a specific vacancy that you would like to move into, you and the existing roommate(s) in that space will need to mutually match on the Self Service website, much like you would during the Fall housing selection process, by this date as well.

November 27, 2023: Students who are mutually matched on Self-Service with an individual/group, who already has an existing assignment from Fall 2023, will be assigned (if space is available) on this day by Residence Life staff.

December 4, 2023: Students who did not choose a roommate/vacancy will be placed by Residence Life staff and notified of their winter and spring housing assignment on this day.

Spring Only Housing Timeline

January 2, 2024: Application deadline for spring only housing. The application can be found on the Self Service website.

January 8, 2024: Students will be assigned and notified of their assignments for spring.

Assignment information will be sent out as quickly as possible for students to make plans.

Winter Term: We are unable to make assignments just for winter term. Winter term housing costs are built into either the fall or spring semester housing fees.

Lease Turnover: If you have made arrangements to take over a lease from another student and completed the lease turnover acceptance form (returning and transfer students only) you will also need to complete the Winter/Spring Housing Application.
