Summer Room Rates & Payment Process
- Summer housing room rates can be seen on the Bursar’s Office site for tuition and fees.
- Payment is due no later than registration day to the Bursar Office via e-bill. If someone adds a room on, or after registration day, payment is due prior to picking up keys to the room.
- Summer housing students will submit their planned occupancy dates on their summer housing application. These are the dates that will be used for billing the student for summer housing. The total rate for Summer Session 1 and 2 housing will be divided into a daily rate and billed according to the anticipated occupancy dates.
- If a student checks in later than their planned check in date, they will still be billed for the room based on the date they said they’d be checking in on the housing application.
- If a student asks to stay later than their planned checkout date, their request will be reviewed based on availability. If approved, they will be billed a daily rate for the additional days until they checkout.
Summer Food Access & Meals
Global Neighborhood has community kitchens on each floor. Students will need to provide their own food, cooking utensils and flatware.
Please note that meal plans are not available during the summer, only Phoenix dollars can be used for locations off-campus. Money can be placed on Phoenix Cards by calling the Phoenix Card Office at 336-278-5436 or visiting the Phoenix Card website.
Moving Out of Summer Housing
When moving out of your space, keys need to be turned into the key box outside the Global office space. Once check out has been completed a member of the Residence Life team will confirm that the correct key has been turned in and the space has been checked for any damage.
In the event a key is lost, a check out form still needs to be completed and turned into Global. A Residence Life staff member will process the key charge and will post it to the student’s account.
More information about checking out can be seen here.
Housing Between Summer Session II and Fall 2025
Students that wish to move from summer housing into their Fall 2025 housing assignments will need to apply and must wait for advanced approval by the Office of Residence Life. A valid reason for the continued need for housing to “bridge” summer to fall is needed.
Students living in Crest apartments will not be able to move into their apartment until their leases begin (Aug. 1). Extenuating circumstances around Elon programs will need to be communicated in advance to Residence Life as well as the specific Program Directors. Students that are not part of an early arrival program and will reside at Crest will need to reach out to residence life (residencelife@elon.edu) directly to obtain approval as an early arrival.
