COMMIT to being an active and engaged citizen!
This phase of community-based learning signifies a high level of engagement and sustained involvement. Students identify and act as engaged citizens and scholars who partner with communities to address society’s most pressing needs. In the process, you commit to being agents of lasting positive change, building long-term partnerships, implementing sustainable solutions, and creating a more just society.
Get Committed!
- Participate in the Elon Year of Service Fellows program
- Register to vote in your new city after graduation
- Participate in AmeriCorps
- Become a member of a board of a local nonprofit organization
- Participate in Teach for America
- Run for a seat your local school board or city council
- Join the Peace Corps
- Work with the Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic as a student in the Elon University School of Law
- Launch a career advancing the public good with assistance from the Student Professional Development Center
