Recruiting Events

Each semester, the Student Professional Development Center hosts multiple events for you to connect with employers recruiting Elon talent for internships and jobs. Discover what companies will be attending these events by logging into the Elon Job Network.

How to Prepare & What to Expect

Research Conduct research on the companies that you’re most interested in approaching prior to the event. This research can include company history, open positions, recent announcements, and industry news.

Practice – Prepare and practice a 30-second commercial to the employer. State who you are, your major, why you are interested in the company and what you can bring to the company.

Update Your Resume – Log into the Elon Job Network to set up an appointment with a career advisor, or stop by during drop-in hours to have your resume reviewed. Be sure to bring copies of your resume with you to the event.

  • Dress to Impress – First impressions are important! Dress appropriately.

Attend the event – Be confident and prepared when you approach company representatives. Shake hands, look the representative in the eye and introduce yourself utilizing your 30-second commercial. Smile and make sure not to cover your name tag with your hair, folder or bag. Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Follow Up – Ask representatives how they would like you to follow up. Be sure to do what they ask you to do.
