Requesting Student Conduct Batch Check

Elon University student leadership positions, certain experiences (such as study abroad/away), and some scholarships may require that applicants/ participants release their Student Conduct record (sometimes referred to as “disciplinary records” or “disciplinary history”) internally. Students must give permission for records to be released (except as provided by FERPA). Academic standing (including academic probation) is separate from disciplinary standing and will not be included in student conduct records.

Please direct all requests for an internal Student Conduct batch check via email to studentconduct@elon.edu. Requests should include the following information:

  1. What information you are requesting
  2. Release of information statement included in the student application, contract, etc. (this may be embedded in the body of the email or attached as a separate document)
  3. Excel spreadsheet with the last name, first name, and university ID number for each student for whom there is a record request

Type of Request

In your email, please include what specific information you are looking to receive in the batch check request. Some examples of this might be:

  • Good or Not Good Standing at the University (most common request)
    • Students and student organizations under sanctions of disciplinary probation, disciplinary suspension, or permanent separation or who have overdue sanctions are not considered to be in “Good Standing”. Students who withdraw from the university, graduate with outstanding charges or sanctions may be considered “not in good standing” with the University until the required conditions are met. Academic standing (including academic probation) is separate from disciplinary standing.
  • All Disciplinary History
  • Any New Disciplinary History
  • Any Disciplinary History Relating to Alcohol or Drugs

Release of Information Statement

In your email, you should include the release of information statement included in the student application, contract, agreement, etc. that the student signed. This release should include the student giving you permission to access the specific disciplinary information that you are requesting. The release may be embedded in the body of the email, or attached as a separate document, but is required for the request. You should also make sure that you provide the most updated version of the agreement for the current academic year.
