At Elon Hillel, we create connections for our Jewish students to summer jobs and internship opportunities, programs in the Jewish community, opportunities in Israel, and post-graduate jobs and internships.

It is part of the mission of Jewish Life to prepare students for life beyond college as leaders and community members, and the team is available as mentors, coaches, and advisors to our community.

Scholarships

  • Hillel International Scholarships are open to students who identify as Jewish, in the U.S. and Canada, who are attending or preparing to attend four-year colleges and universities or graduate school.

Organizations that offer Jewish jobs and internships:

  • Hillel International Summer Internships are a remote, cohort based experience filled with hands-on learning, professional development, and networking opportunities.
  • Masa Israel offers a wide range of programs such as gap year, study abroad, volunteering, and post-grad opportunities.
  • Ziering Brandeis Collegiate Institute offers a 26-day program where students will be engaged through artistic exploration, spiritual reflection, outdoor exploration, and trans-denominational learning. Young Jewish adults from all over the world can engage in Jewish learning, arts, culture and an exploration of community and self..
  • The Onward Israel Hillel International Internship Program will help participants develop their professional future and build their resume through a high-level internship side-by-side with Israeli peers. This tailor-made, Jerusalem-based internship program provides students the work experience based on skills, interests and future plans.
  • URJ 6 Points Specialty Camp is seeking college students with an interest in science and technology, visual or performing arts, or sports and athletics to serve on our summer staff. We are looking for students to serve in a variety of positions, including counselors, photographers, communication team members, leadership team members, and logistics team members.
  • Bertha Anolic Visual Arts Israel Travel Award. $2,000 will be awarded to a Jewish student who has a particular interest in the visual arts and in Israel, to explore and develop their artistic interest through an independent study trip to Israel. Any Jewish student (undergraduate junior, senior, or graduate level), studying in a Jewish studies college program, department of fine arts, or an academically accredited art school is eligible to apply.
  • The Franklin C. Ash Summer Internship Program is a seven-week summer internship opportunity for undergraduate college students who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of nonprofit work.

Post-Graduate Internships, Jobs, and Programs

  • Masa Israel Teaching Fellows is a 10 month teaching fellowship that brings native English speakers to Israel to teach English, travel and gain professional and personal development. No teaching experience or Hebrew needed.
  • BINA Gap Year in Israel is a life-changing 10-month Israel gap year program! Be immersed in Israeli society with Israelis. Engage in meaningful volunteering in Tel Aviv. Study Jewish and Israeli culture from a secular perspective. Travel. Make lifelong friends.
  • ISJL Program Associates gain tremendous experience in Jewish communal services and leadership skills over the two-year employment in this position, including the opportunity to travel to unique Jewish communities in the South. PAs are based in our office in Jackson, MS. This is a full-time position, complete with salary, expenses, benefits, and professional development.
  • IMPACT: Emerging Leaders Fellowship by the World Union of Jewish Students and B’nai B’rith International is a virtual fellowship program for Jewish students and young professionals worldwide. Throughout the six-month program fellows gain advocacy, diplomacy and civic engagement skills, expand their knowledge and become effective change-makers in their communities and the broader public sphere. Participants interact with high-level policy makers, NGOs and industry experts on issues ranging from anti-Semitism on campus and online, to media polarization, Holocaust remembrance and genocide prevention, Israel engagement, coalition building and Jewish pluralism and diversity.
  • Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps. Spend a year working at a leading anti-poverty nonprofit in Chicago, New Orleans, New York, or Washington, DC. Our Corps Members live and learn together in a supportive, pluralistic community at the crossroads of justice and Jewish life.  Join us to build the foundations for careers, Jewish community, and lifelong activism in social and economic justice movements.
  • Leadership and Diversity in the 21st Century: Shared Society in Israel and the Galilee. The program is anchored by three major strands that weave together the region’s ethnic, cultural, religious, and historical traditions and narratives: (a) “Contemporary Israel,” (b) “Communities of the Galilee” and (c) “Leadership for Social Change and Shared Society.” Each week will include a full-day field trip to archaeological and historic sites as well as towns and cities in the Northern District.
  • Wellspring internship and leadership opportunities at the Shalom Hartman Institute allow students to learn with top scholars about the issues that matter most to Israel and the Jewish people while contributing to an organization focused on Jewish peoplehood, Zionism, and the commitment to Judaism as a compelling force for good in the 21st century.
